A cold day to go looking for reports of snow at Stanley this morning. However as expected on this cold day the report referred to Mt Stanley only. Instead we opted for looking around some of the village. I was especially interested in revisiting Collins St where the old police station and cottage stands.

The old house has the police lockup to the side and what appears to be the small police station behind the house. My great grandfather James Waters was stationed here as a trooper in the 1880s at the same tiime as Ned Kelly was on the run.
