Taminick Gap: a short walk up part of Nasons Springs Track.

A Saturday morning walk in June at Warby Ovens National Park.

We left the car at the eastern end of Taminick Gap Road (South Wangaratta) near the base of the steep bitumen road. There is a small place on the south side of the road to park. We were the only ones there at the time. The track follows the gully line up slope. Try walking, the area is a bit steep as you get closer to the locked gate. Once you pass the gate its National Park The track ends on the Ridge Track to Mt Glenrowan. Along the low section we found this wonderful old dead tree-great habitat.

This amazing feral bee hive was active in the base of this Apple Box (Eucalyptus bridgesiana) tree. There were also 2 Yellow-footed Antechinus moving around, too quick for my camera. I have not seen such an extensive beautiful cone structure exposed before, probably attributed to the the low limb which had recently broken off at the tree base. Both images taken on iPhone 15Pro.
